About Me
Hi, I’m Caitlin!
I work with teens and adults who feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or worn down by long-term stress, trauma, or neurodivergent experiences. Many of the people I work with have tried therapy before and left feeling like it did not quite fit. Maybe it felt too surface-level, too rushed, or disconnected from what they were actually living day to day.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and grounded in evidence-based care. I draw from EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and solution-focused approaches, while moving at a pace that is shaped around you and your needs. Therapy with me is not about forcing change or pushing through discomfort. It is about understanding what your nervous system has been responding to and finding ways to create relief that feel sustainable in real life.
My clinical background includes working in residential, outpatient, school-based, and private practice settings. I have worked with teens and adults experiencing active suicidal thoughts, self-harm, severe anxiety, depression, PTSD, and periods of acute emotional crisis. I have supported clients through hospitalizations, safety planning, and transitions in care, as well as longer-term healing work once stability was established. These experiences have shaped how I show up in the therapy room today.
I understand how difficult life transitions can be, whether that is stepping into adulthood, becoming a parent, or receiving a chronic illness diagnosis that changes how you see yourself and your future. Through my own lived experiences, I have come to appreciate how much these moments can shake identity, expectations, and a sense of stability. This perspective helps me approach therapy with care for both what has been lost and what is still unfolding.
Therapy can be a place to slow down and make sense of what is changing without pressure to have it all figured out.
I believe healing is not about fixing yourself or erasing what you have been through. Trauma does not define you, but it does deserve care, time, and understanding. My role is to help you make sense of your experiences and build a sense of steadiness and self-trust that can support you beyond the therapy room.
Education and Training
I earned my Master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles.
I have completed EMDR basic training as part of a trauma-focused approach to therapy.
I have also completed specialized training in ADHD evaluations and am currently completing an Autism Evaluation Program. This advanced training allows me to provide ADHD and autism evaluations for clients residing in California. My approach to assessments/ evaluations are collaborative, thoughtful, and focused on helping clients better understand themselves rather than fitting them into rigid categories.
